rogue alphaBlurb: One touch made her crave him. Her shocking choice will change everything.

Biology student Laura Prince lands a plum internship deep in the Michigan wilderness. When she discovers a lone black wolf with piercing gold eyes in the forest, she feels a connection to him she can’t explain. Stranger still, no one believes what she saw was real. Then, she encounters Malcolm Devane — a very real, tall, dark, brooding stranger with hauntingly familiar golden eyes. Laura is drawn to Mal in ways she knows are dangerous. But, when everything Laura has worked for gets torn away, he’s the only one she can turn to.

Exiled from his native pack lands, Mal is on a mission of redemption. If he can bring down a rival Alpha wolf and reclaim his pack, he just might get the chance to return home. But when he meets Laura, she stirs a dark passion in him he thought he could never have again. He knows instantly that she’s his fated mate but it may be the very thing that gets her killed. For a powerful enemy with nothing left to lose won’t hesitate to hurt Laura to get to Mal. Even though Mal knows the safest thing to do is walk away, the dark wolf inside him may be too strong to deny.

Eh, this book was okay I guess. I think when you mix sex with shifter it gets a bit lost in translation honestly. Cause I am almost positive that I would have liked this book more if it was a YA shifter, but that’s just me. I’m not prude but I appreciate the difference bewteen a YA and NA paranormal romance.

Their interactions were mostly physical and with a scenario like this, I need more that that. Again, this is purely one readers opinion. I think I enjoy the softness of a YA shifter more than an NA. It gives the alpha a sensitivity that I can fall in lust with. When they have sex after they met only twice, it takes away from the act for me. Gives it less meaning, ya know? I know that sounds weird, but thats just how I’m wired, I guess.

If you can ignore the sex aspect of the book, (which clearly I can’t) you have a great story. But it just didn’t outshine the tropey sex for me.

So, I learned something about myself whilst reading this book. I don’t like paranormal NA apperantly. But have no fear. I’m sure I will forget why and try again in the not so distant future.

  1. Bwahahhaa…I love your last line. It’s so me. Sorry this one didn’t work out for you chickie. I can totally vibe with you. I could see going either way on it if it was me, it would have to depend on the story.

  2. I feel ya. I haven’t been reading NA paranormal because of this. Adult paranormal is fine because they normally wait until the end and YA is sweet without the boning. great review!

  3. How wrong is it that this just might interest me. To be honest I love NA Paranormal Romance.

My taste are all over the place I swear. I was just looking at this book the other day and then I see your review on Deja Revu post.
