Blurb:

With a deadly disease spreading like wildfire across the country, microbiologist Nora Medina needs to focus all her energy on stopping the pandemic. Playing with dynamite—in the form of her way-too-hot ex—is the last thing she should be doing. But forced to work with Deacan McDougall against unexpected enemies with the seconds ticking by, she knows the explosion is coming...

My Review:

This book took a bit of a detour.  It takes place in the world but not with the rest of the cast of characters.  But since this is a novella I’m pretty satisfied with it.  You do not have to read this in order BTW. Although some little things would make sense if you did. I myself read the them in this order: 2nd, 1st, 3rd, 4th and .5. I’ll be reading the 5th one next then 4.5 just to stay contrary.  I still understood everything fine.

I just love how the alpha characters are in this book. They know they are domineering and possessive but also understand that in this post-apocalyptic world, they are needed in order for people to survive.  And the women either have to be just as badass (which they are) or they will be dominated as well. (which mainly happens in the bedroom)

This one had more sex than story in it but since I already knew most of the story that was fine with me. And while these characters are not my favorite, we do see the origin story of patient zero come to life.  And I was not expecting that so that was a cool bonus. Especially after the previous books taking about him and trying to find him all this time.

This book satisfies a spot on my #SFvFBingo reading challenge. I’m filing this under, This is totally going to happen one day.
