***A Domino Anthology: 13 Authors ONE story***

Verity Michaels is new to New York City, but even she knows riding in a stolen cab is not a normal way to meet someone. Damn it if that tattoo-covered would-be felon isn’t everywhere now, and lighting everything on fire under her skirt.

His name is Hudson Fenn, and he’s frustratingly impossible to pin down. He works as a bike messenger, but has the manners of a prince—along with a strange tendency toward breaking and entering. As much as Verity knows he’s not her type, and likely to land her in jail, she can’t help but find her truest self when they’re together.

Can she be brave enough to give Hudson a real chance? Will he be bold enough to reveal the man beneath the ink, or will his secrecy doom their connection? Also, WTF is the deal with Verity’s boss? No less than thirteen of your favorite romance writers have teamed up to tell this sexy, wacky, snort-inducing tale. With them you’ll visit the world’s most irritating office, a VIP room of questionable cleanliness, and the fanciest apartment a bike messenger has ever inhabited, but you’ll still never see this ending coming.

My Review:

OMG I loved this book. It was a bit slow to warm up but I wouldn’t even have been able to tell where one author left off and another began it they didn’t label each chapter.  PS: that’s a good thing.

I loved how Hudson was so misunderstood and constantly pigeon-ed holed into this bad boy persona because of his job (dead end bike messenger) and his tattoos (pretty much covered). I loved even more how he let it roll off his back and didn’t take it so seriously. He was playful and sexy.  Two attributes when combined make for a very interesting male lead right? Their first interaction was….just perfect.  That’s the kinda story you tell to your grand kids.  “Oh, how did we meet? Well, your grandfather stole a cab that we were sharing”  Ha, it doesn’t get much better than that.  Okay that’s the only spoiler and it a small one at that.

I love the female lead as well.  Not only does she have a kick ass name (Verity), but she also has a country girl background mixed with some city sassiness.  Her determination to prove to herself and her father that she can make it on her own is admirable and something we can all relate to I think. Coupled with her love of art gives her character deeper depth. Their combined love of art in its different mediums was a bonus.  It gave them more than just physicality to bring them together. Let’s be real, anytime they offer more than looks as attraction is A ok with me.  Especially with such a graphic novel.

The sex and feeling were interwoven quite seemlessly. And boy were the sex scenes HAWT with a capital H! The scene in the VIP room at the bar. No, the stairs leading up to the VIP room at the bar is probably my favorite.

I usually love anything written by Helena Hunting so its no surprise I enjoyed this one. Now I have more authors to look up!
