The 2018 Reading Assignment Challenge is hosted by Berls @ Fantasy is More Fun and Michelle @ Because Reading is better than real life.  #2018HW

I have wanted to participate in this challenge for a few years, but I’ve been intimated b/c I’m not good at sticking to specific plans.  But I’m going to dive in.  The basics are in these two points (I just copied and pasted instead of regurgitating):

  • Commit to reading 1, 2, 3, or 4 books a month and MAKE A LIST of the SPECIFIC books you will read in January – June. This is one of our changes… rather than committing for a year, you’re just picking the books for the first half of the year. You’ll make a new list and commit to a new number of books per month in June for July – December. So 2 books a month works for January – June, but only 1 for July – December? That’s fine!
  • Pick a level and make your list. REMEMBER: you’re committing to not just those books, but that number of books a month. You CANNOT read them all in one month.

So I’m going to start small and commit to Reading Level 1, which is 1 book a month for the first 6 months.  Here is the list of 6 books I will choose from each month:

When It’s Real by Erin Watt
Four Letter Word (Dirty Deeds #1) by J. Daniels
Daring Fate (Silver Tip Pack #1) by Megan Erickson
Bedmates (American Royalty #1) by Nichole Chase
All Lined Up (Rusk University #1) by Cora Carmack
Bittersweet (True North #1) by Sarina Bowen

Books Read:

  1. Four Letter Word by J. Daniels

The Author Love Challenge 2018 is hosted by Berls @ Fantasy is More Fun and Michelle @ Because Reading is better than real life.  #authorluv18

The goal of this challenge is to pick an author you love and would like to read more of, and try to read as many books by them in a year as you can. I’ve chosen Cindi Madsen for my author, and I’m setting my goal at at least 8 books (and hopefully all 10 unread books I currently own). I’m not including rereads.

Books Read:

  1. Until You're Mine by Cindi Madsen

The 2018 AtoZ Reading Challenge is hosted by Ginger Mom & the Kindle Quest.  #2018AtoZChallenge

The goal of this challenge is to read a book for each letter of the alphabet. You get one freebie letter as well. I’m gonna try my darnedest to go all the way, but I’ll be pretty proud of myself if I get 13 letters.

The #COYER Winter Switch is hosted by Berls @ Fantasy is More Fun, Michelle @ Because Reading is better than real life, and Stormi @ Books, Movies, Reviews. Oh my! and runs from December 16th to March 9th. #COYER

COYER stands for Clean Out Your E-Reads, and the purpose it to read all those books you already own that you purchased for less than $5 (this includes ARCs since you get those for free).  Or at least that’s the regular version.  These run twice a year I believe, and for this Winter Switch you can choose the regular “strict” version for the whole challenge, or you can choose to mix it up with COYER Switch.  If you choose COYER Switch, there are 3 different time periods, and you must do each of the 3 components once (you decide the order).  NOTE: you can read books outside these rules, but obviously those books wouldn’t count towards this challenge.  I’m a bit late signing up and getting started, but what the heck!!  I’m going for the COYER Switch because it sounds fun.  Here are the deetz for the 3 components:

The Strict

This is good old strict COYER. The rules:

  1. Every book you read must be an eBook or audiobook.
  2. Every book must be either free or less than $5.
  3. No library books, borrowed books, or Kindle Unlimited.

The List

For The List, you guessed it… you’re making a list!

  1. Make a list of up to 30 books you want to read.
  2. Every book on the list must be in your possession BEFORE you put them on the list.
  3. You can add 5 new books for every 5 books you read.
  4. Books on the list can be any format, any price, obtained any LEGAL way… so that means library books, KU, borrowed, etc.

The One with the Twist

The One with the Twist is probably my favorite…

  1. You can read ANY book. ANY price. Obtained any LEGAL way.
  2. The Twist is, you have to stick with one format. If you choose audiobooks, then only the audiobooks you read during this phase will count. If you choose eBooks, then only eBooks you read during this phase will count. ETC…

My Goals:

  • December 16 – January 12: The Strict ⇒ Goal of 10 books.
  • January 13 – February 9: The List ⇒ Goal of 12 books chosen from the following list:

Anatomy of a Player by Cindi Madsen
Crazy Pucking Love by Cindi Madsen
    Beautiful Secret by Christina Lauren
    Royally Matched by Emma Chase
    Royally Endowed by Emma Chase
    Appealed by Emma Chase
Sweet Little Lies by Jill Shalvis
Accidentally on Purpose by Jill Shalvis
    Paper Princess by Erin Watt
    Unspoken by Jen Frederick
    Sacked by Jen Frederick
Truth or Beard by Penny Reid
    Beard Science by Penny Reid
Beard in Mind by Penny Reid
Beauty and the Mustache by Penny Reid
    Dating-ish by Penny Reid
    The Score by Elle Kennedy
    The Goal by Elle Kennedy
Act Like You Love Me by Cindi Madsen
Resisting the Hero by Cindi Madsen
Crazy for the Competition by Cindi Madsen
The Bad Boy’s Baby by Cindi Madsen
    Just Jilted by Cindi Madsen
