4 Stars:
I felt the urgency in this book, knowing Silas only had hours to find someone he didn’t remember losing. I don’t know how they managed to surprise me in the end but they did. I am beginning to like novellas better than full size books right now. Except the cliffhanger endings, gah, make the cliffhanger endings go away!
Charlie and Silas were apart for most of this book but they somehow were able to find each other in the end. This book made me think about what I would do in a situation like theirs. What would you say to the ones you love if you knew you were going to forget them in a few days’ time?
Side note: I always had a skewed view of cliffhanger endings; my view is that the writing should be good enough that you don’t need a cliffhanger to make the reader want to buy the next one. We will buy it because we liked your book. Now I know that is a weird way to look at things but I can’t help the way I feel. I like when everything is tied up at the end like a neat little package with a bow.
