The 2023 Diversity Reading Challenge is hosted by Celebrity Readers, ie us!  #DiversityRC2023

The main goal for the challenge is to read as many diverse books as possible, and I’m setting my goal for 48 diverse reads.  There’s also a mini-challenge with the following monthly themes:

The 2023 Backlist Reader Challenge is hosted by Lark @ The Bookwyrm’s Hoard. #BacklistReader

There are no levels to this challenge, you just set your reading goal.  All books must be released prior to 2022, and must already be on your TBR List (I loved that this challenge was for a year older books, as well as restrictions on what books can count).  You don’t have to own the book before this challenge starts, but you have to have recorded somewhere that you wanted to read it — this can mean wishlists or for me I’ll be counting tags in my library apps.  My goal is 42 books (the answer to life, the universe, and everything)!  I’ll likely not be counting DNF’s, especially if I DNF prior to 50%.

COYER stands for Clean Out Your E-Reads, and was initially about reading free (or nearly free) e-books and writing reviews for them.

1. Every book you read MUST be in an electronic format – meaning eBook or Audiobook. It’s okay to start a book before September 1st, you must be less than half way for it to count then review it during COYER.
2. The books must be FREE or NEARLY FREE! This includes review books, tour books, NetGalley, Edelweiss, etc. What’s nearly free? No more than $5 for eBooks and no more than $7.50 for Audiobooks (or the equivalent in your currency). Library books, borrowed books, or Kindle Unlimited, Amazon Prime books, and Audible Plus Catalog books do not qualify.

2023 Bookish Resolutions Challenge is hosted by Berls and Michelle @ Because Reading Is Better Than Real Life.  #BookishRes2023

Bookish Resolutions Challenge is about setting New Year’s Resolutions for reading, book blogging or writing.  What I really like is that it’s a way for me to take certain personal challenges I’ve been wanting to tackle and put them in a broader challenge so I can keep track.  I failed MISERABLY last year, so I’m going to tackle mostly the same resolutions but with more reasonable goals.

Rules:

1. Create 5 or more resolutions related to reading/book blogging/writing (see examples on the sign up; you can have as many resolutions as you would like, there is no limit) 
2. Since this is a year long challenge pick goals with some longevity. Pick a goal that will take you no less than 6 months to complete.
3. Once your goals are set you cannot change them.

Lenore’s Resolutions:

1. Read at least 1 book kept from my Down the TBR Hole meme each month (does not have to be one kept in that month, as long as it has been saved from the purge thus far).
2. Clean up my currently reading list by finishing books that I paused, or writing and posting reviews that have been sitting waiting.  And once cleaned up, keep it *actually* current (so at the end of the year, make sure there aren’t long outstanding books still on the list).
3. Read at least 2 anthologies from front to back.  Pick anthologies that has at least 5 different stories in them.  I keep taking advantage of free/cheap anthologies where my fave authors have stories, and then never getting to them.
4. Read at least 10 of the remaining Harlequin Presents paperbacks I own and reread/read them so I can finally either get rid of them, or know I’m keeping the ones I still enjoy as 2023 Lenore.  I can still count it if I DNF the book, b/c either way I’m getting rid of it.
5. Reread and finally finish 1 of the longer (at least 5 books) Harlequin series I’ve been sitting on for a decade (possibilities: Redstone Incorporated by Justine Davis, The Medusa Project by Cindy Dees, Eagle Squadron series by Ingrid Weaver, Last Chance Heroes series by Linda Winstead Jones, The Texas Firefighters by Amy Knupp, Alaskan Heat by Jennifer LaBrecque).
6. Reread and finally review at least 2 previous beta reads (I’m currently sitting on 33 unreviewed beta reads).
