Blurb:

The world’s sexiest firefighter is about to get a second chance with the virgin next door…

He’s bossy, arrogant, and so ridiculously hot he should come with a warning label and a pair of flame retardant coveralls.

He’s also the boy who broke my heart when we were in high school.

I want to move in next door to Ryan O’Dell the way I want to be the virgin gamer geek suddenly in charge of running my sister’s sex toy factory. Too bad both are written in my stars.

Yeah, I’m the world’s oldest virgin code-writing nerd.

And he’s the world’s hottest firefighter.

And even though he intimidates the heck out of me, I can’t seem to control my libido when he’s around.

Where is my dignity? My self-respect? My panties?

Seriously…. Have you seen them? Anyone?

Maybe they’re hiding in his bedroom. With my heart.

Yeah, I know. I’m hosed.

So hosed.

Hosed is a steamy, fun romantic comedy between a firefighter and the virgin nerd next door, complete with a pet raccoon, scandalous gossip, and dildo football. (No, really.) This romance has no cheating or cliffhangers, and ends with a banging hot happily ever after.

My Review:

3.5 stars — This was a fun book, and George Cooney definitely has me rounding up instead of down.  He was hilarious, if a bit unrealistic.

I was pretty excited to have a nerdy shy heroine, but honestly that’s not quite what I got with Cassie.  We didn’t get more than a shallow reference to her nerdiness because of her profession, and it never really came into play which is a bit of a bummer.  She was sweet, fiercely protective of her sister, and generally pretty fun.

Ryan was a bit more interesting, what with how he saw himself as the protector of his little brothers, but even that line never really got explored much.  Why was he taking care of them?  Even if he made some dumbass mistakes, I still enjoyed him.  He was sweet, funny, and caring.

They were pretty fun together too, I enjoyed their first date and their progress to more.

I think without George Cooney and the quirky town, I definitely would have rounded down though.  Now that I’m writing my review, I realize just how little exploration we got into who our characters were…it was mostly about the comedy, and that was hit or miss with me.  I’m still going to check out Jace’s story because I already own it, but…

  1. It made me giggle when I saw you read this book. I read it, too. It wasn’t my favorite, but I have liked books by both authors, especially Pippa Grant.

    • I definitely enjoyed this one more than book 2! I have a few Pippa Grant books I need to check out and see if she’s for me or not…
