3.5 stars — Well, it wasn’t as bad as my other rereads of Ms. Marinelli’s books, but there’s still this super bad behavior from the heroes that’s just a bit disappointing. The saving grace in this one is that Levander has a truly horrendous upbringing to excuse his lack of emotional intelligence.
Millie was pretty solid. She tried to stand up for herself at times. I still don’t get these books where they decide they’ve been in love from the beginning — always has me asking, with what?? It’s like the author’s don’t know what healthy relationships are.
Also, the amount of shade on a woman who might consider terminating a pregnancy in this book was pretty high…FYI.
