This is a pretty cool futuristic take on this fairy tale.  Her character is sarcastic yet caring even of those who are mean and cruel to her. She battles with how she views herself as opposed to how others view her. She doesn’t give up which surprised me because I was expecting someone who just kinda took what she was given, and yeah she did a little bit in that aspect but she made it known she wasn’t happy.  You would think she would be jaded but she wasn’t.  She was doing things for others without expecting anything in return.  She had a very level-head, it made her character appealing to me.

The prince is torn, he seems to be the real Cinderella, he has no control over his destiny, he has no control over what he has to do, and he can’t just walk away.  He does think outside of himself with regards to what is right for his country.  He tries to be rebellious, which shows me that he is thinking for himself and outside of himself.

The first half was kinda slow and I couldn’t get into it for some reason.  I didn’t bond with it. I love fairy tale re-tellings.  This one also happens to be a book that’s on my challenge list; a book from the future.

I really like the doctor he comes off as goofy to me for some reason but very likeable, even though he isn’t honest. He’s truthful but he omits certain things. He does it in this way that isn’t suspicious and in the end he comes through for her.  I’m certain he plays the fairy godmother.  The last quarter of the book really pulled me in and ended in a bit of a cliffy.
