Blurb:Four consecutive weeks on the New York Times and #1 in Romance.
It started out like any other morning on the train.Until I became mesmerized by the guy sitting across the aisle. He was barking at someone on his phone like he ruled the world.Who did the stuck-up suit think he was...God?Actually, he looked like a God. That was about it.When his stop came, he got up suddenly and left. So suddenly, he dropped his phone on the way out.I might have picked it up.I might have gone through all of his photos and called some of the numbers.I might have held onto the mystery man's phone for days―until I finally conjured up the courage to return it.When I traipsed my ass across town to his fancy company, he refused to see me.So, I left the phone on the empty desk outside the arrogant jerk's office.I might have also left behind a dirty picture on it first though.I didn't expect him to text back.I didn't expect our exchanges to be hot as hell.I didn't expect to fall for him―all before we even met.The two of us couldn't have been any more different.Yet, you know what they say about opposites. When we finally came face to face, we found out opposites sometimes do more than attract―we consumed each other.Nothing could have prepared me for the ride he took me on. And I certainly wasn't prepared for where I'd wind up when the ride was over. All good things must come to an end, right?Except our ending was one I didn't see coming.
Favorite Quote:
Most of the guys I’d dated had been starving artists, hipsters, or tree huggers. My life was far from Sex and the City. It was more like Sex and the Pity. Or Sex and the Shitty.
“Don’t be afraid to get hurt. It’s far better than never experiencing anything earth-shattering. Even temporary joy is better than nothing at all.
It’s been a while since I read this book but I remember really liking it. In fact, I may read it again. My favorite part is the texting in the beginning when they are on the train together. Ohhh man, talk about a slow burn romance.
And the twist! I was totally surprised with the originality of such a simple concept being woven into what is normally a straight romance. The way each character was affected by the situation felt organic. I kept nodding my head while they were dealing with it. Especially Soraya’s. I agreed with her reasoning and it was a very noble gesture on her part. I just, maybe would have spoke with Graham about it before I went in whole hog ya know?
And Graham was just your average, alpha millionaire with a sweet side, especially when it came to Soraya. It is true that meeting the right woman will change a man, whether intentional or no. and with Graham, it was a pleasant change. We get to see how he opens his heart and life to her and how it affects his employees. It was a nice side note to a already great romance.
Great book, highly recommend. It’s available on KU, so if you have that program I say one click this one!
Damn, this one sounds good!!
One of my faves from these authors.
