Blurb:A romance for the over 40.
Breast cancer survivor Edie Williams is ready to live. Divorced. Mother of two. She’s planned the vacation of a lifetime for a reboot, only to encounter an awakening adventure—Tommy Carrigan.
Manager of the band Collision, Tommy Carrigan has his plate full. Independent. Carefree. He’s on an annual holiday with his band family, when the unexpected happens—Edie Williams.
Love might be just what the doctor prescribed, but can it survive the world of rock-n-roll?

Favorite Quotes:
He kissed me like the devil had a purpose and it included devouring me.
Lightning struck again, flashing behind him. The world was dark and murky around us as the storm outside continued, but all I sensed was him. He was thunder, and I anxiously awaited the strike.
These characters had so much rich life in them, they were well-rounded and full of depth. I never really read an after 40 romance before but I must say they are on my radar for sure now. I’m close to this age but not there yet so I was able to identify with every insecurity both Edie AND Tommy had. They are both established in their careers. Both have family and yes, both have some baggage that they needed to deal with.
Edie’s brush with death helped her to realize she hadn’t really been living since her divorce. Her breast cancer survival (Not a spoiler, its in the blurb) was a great addition to her character and it was nice to have a look into the life of someone who has dealt with it. I know so many people who have had it or have had it impact their lives through a family member that it made her more relatable in my eyes.
Tommy was a bit immature in some areas but I understood with the type of work he was in so it wasn’t a huge deterrent from liking him. He was all passion and intensity but it wasn’t over the top and too alpha. He was just….real. His lines weren’t cheesy, I could see them being spoken.
The realationship issues they dealt with didn’t seem petty or immature. And it wasn’t easy on either of them, I liked that it was hard. A good thing takes work to make it work yeah, but in the end it’s all worth it. And boy was it worth it! Who knew over 40 could be so damn sexy?
I was so scared this was not gonna work out for them. The struggle felt so real and I was sucked into it. I really believed the author was setting me up for the old tragic ending. Which I like every know and again. Thank goodness it wasn’t like that in this one. I can’t wait to read another by this author!
I need to read this book, and I can’t wait to finally get to meet L.B. Dunbar at Book Bonanza. I’m so excited.
Great review!
