My Review:

5 stars — This is the most adorable fucking book I’ve ever read/listened to.  I think it’s my fave read/listen of the year so far, I really truly do.  I loved the WHOLE book.  Start to finish.  Not a fucking thing I would change about it.

And honestly?  I can’t figure out if I’m just an epic audiobook lover all of a sudden, but these narrators were amazing.  For all I know I wouldn’t have had nearly as much fun if I’d just boring old read it.  C.J. Bloom was HILARIOUS.  Like she went from sweet and soft to bold and manic in 1.2 seconds.  She epitomized Georgie for me.  I want her to secretly be the real Georgie, for her to really exist, and then I want to be friends with her.  Pretty much the same goes for Eric Michael Summerer as Kline.  He nailed that role, and I want that to be what the real Kline sounds like…because he exists right?  I want to watch these two adorable characters with a stupidly big grin on my face and just never stop.  BOTH narrators had a fantastic range of character voices…I loved how they depicted each character differently, so I basically always knew who would be talking even without context.  The only part that got a bit rough was Ms. Bloom narrating as Cassie in the epilogue…sometimes she started sounding like Georgie and I would get confused.  But I don’t even care.  I LOVED this audiobook.  I have the boxed set of the Kindle books, and I still want to listen to the novella instead just so I can hear them for longer.

As for the book?  AMAZEBALLS.  Like, start to finish amazeballs.  There were so many laughs, I can’t even tell you.  And they were never secondhand embarrassment laughs, they were I-love-these-characters-so-much-they’re-hilarious-I-can’t-even laughs.  And it wasn’t just laughs…I mean, it was a LOT of laughs and happiness, don’t get me wrong…but there were emotional moments as well.  And I honestly, palpably, felt the connection between Kline and Georgie.  I adored the way their relationship unfolded, and I ADORED that we got to see so much of them being goofy together and just navigating becoming boyfriend/girlfriend.  I loved them both equally, but I LIVED for their moments together.  They had friendship chemistry in spades, and don’t even get me started on the steamy chemistry.  Oh wow.  Just. Wow.

Georgie was EXACTLY as Kline described — so fucking adorable, even *I* could hardly stand it (but in the best way).  I just wanted to wrap her up.  She was this amazing mix of bold and sassy crossed with sweet and girly.  And it WORKED.  I loved that she had internal strife, but that she fought for herself and stood up to Kline.

And Kline…Kline was SUPAH SWOONY.  Like, he might have been a dirty talker and all grrrr in the bedroom sometimes, but he leaned more towards gentle and caring in all other aspects.  I loved the respect he showed Georgia, and I could honestly FEEL his love for her pouring off of him.  I loved that he truly was humble and down to earth, and OMG was he hilarious.  I MELTED every time he called her baby or Benny girl.

The secondary characters were so well developed too.  They were hilarious without being too over the top.  From Cassie, Thatch, and Wes — I can’t WAIT for all their stories.  To BOTH sets of parents.  To Dean, Frank and even Walter.  What can I say, they all added just a bit of something.

So yeah.  As you can see, this book worked for me.  I love it when that happens.
