Blurb:End of Days is the explosive conclusion to Susan Ee’s bestselling Penryn & the End of Days trilogy. After a daring escape from the angels, Penryn and Raffe are on the run. They’re both desperate to find a doctor who can reverse the twisted changes inflicted by the angels on Raffe and Penryn’s sister. As they set off in search of answers, a startling revelation about Raffe’s past unleashes dark forces that threaten them all.
When the angels release an apocalyptic nightmare onto humans, both sides are set on a path toward war. As unlikely alliances form and strategies shift, who will emerge victorious? Forced to pick sides in the fight for control of the earthly realm, Raffe and Penryn must choose: Their own kind, or each other?
Favorite Quote:
On the verge of an apocalypse filled with monsters and torture in a nightmare world. And I’m standing here, a moonstruck teenager pining for an enemy soldier. What am I, crazy? This time, I’m the first to turn away.
This book meets the Plague space requirement for #SFvFBingo being hosted by Curiosity Killed the Bookworm.
I didn’t think it could get any better. I was wrong. Gah, what a great finish to a wonderful series. Lots of action in this one because all the little build ups explode here. There are so many side stories going on, I didn’t think I would be able to keep them all straight. Paige’s hold on the scorpions, Raffe’s wings, humanity’s last chance to take back their world, the mad scientists plague and sixers demon, the Angel’s election for the new Messenger and finally, what is to become of Penryn and Raffe’s relationship?
First off ::swoon:: I love Raffe. He is just the most awesomest guy in the world. He is sarcastically sweet and tries to be controlling, its cute how Penryn just kinda ignores him when he gets like that. The flight in Hell? I don’t know how Hell turned out to be a romantic spot but dayum ya’ll!
I think Raffe has the bigger challenges in this book as he needs to figure out how to win the election without hurting the human race. And he seems to be a one angel army as there are really no other angels who are willing to side with him. You would think that Angels would be the good guys but nooooo, they are not perfect and really only care about themselves. Bunch’a bitches!
This thing is action packed from beginning to end. I loved all the action scenes. My favorite being when all the swords bowed down to pookie bear in fear. Oh man, that was awesome. The sword had a distinct role in each of the books and even though it wasn’t necessarily sentient, I felt if it wasn’t part of the story it would have been missed and not just because of its literal usefullness as a weapon. I could go on, but I won’t. It was just perfect!
Buncha bitches indeed! 😉 And yeah, Pookie bear was the shit.
