4.5 stars — I’m not a huge enemies to lovers trope lover, and this one wasn’t quite that…but the animosity between Matt and Avery truly made me feel sad and uncomfortable initially. But I loved the way the story played out, and how Matt and Avery navigated this Christmas stuck in their office. It was a reminder of why I love Ms. Layne’s writing, b/c even in a novella she managed to make me feel for both characters, to understand their past, and to feel the connection that persists this 10 years later, even under all the hurt. I also appreciated that mistakes were made on both sides. It was a perfect novella, b/c I connected with the characters, and I was happy and satisfied with the ending…and I BELIEVED it.
I totally missed this free one! I don’t know how. I get her newsletter. 🙁 Going back to search my email now.
It was from like 2 years ago! I included the link at the bottom of the blurb above if you can’t find it otherwise!
LOL Maybe I actually already read it then and just didn’t remember it!!!
The link wasn’t good. 🙁
OMG, I had a period in the link. *rolls eyes* It’s fixed. 😉
I’ll try again then!
I’ll try again then…
I wonder if she took it down now? This is what I got when I went to her page…
