Willa Knight: Dweller? Sol? Accidental evolutionary hiccup?

Willa has never been a particularly useful dweller: she isn’t very good at chores, she isn’t very good at worshipping, she isn’t very good at not having opinions, and she isn’t very good with rules—but none of that matters anymore. The rules are changing. The dwellers are trying to make their own way in the world, and Willa can’t seem to help getting tangled up in their plans. Luckily, she has the Abcurse brothers to help her out—until she doesn’t, and suddenly she’s alone again in a world on the brink of chaos. With the Abcurses gone, she’ll have to rely on her wits, and her sister Emmy, to stay under the radar and survive. Because someone wants her dead.

But, really, what else is new?

This is a full novel, 90,000 words. Book 3 of 5 in the Curse of the Gods Series

My Review:

Finally we are getting to the good stuff!  This is a sloooooowww burn RH and I was thinking of calling it quits on the last one but I kept getting pulled back for some reason. I always listen to my mind when it does this because there’s gotta be a reason right?  So anyway, I startd this book with low hopes, but it really surprised me.  We finally get some action and it was worth the wait.

And while I find all of these characters utterly ridiculous, I can’t help but feel some type of way about them.  Have you ever read a story that makes almost no sense what so ever but the characters just call to your soul?  That is this series.  It’s like a bruise I keep poking because evern though it hurts, I CAN’T STOP!

Willa’s role is less passive in this book, and while she was never really very passive to begin with her participation ramps up in this one.  We get to know more about her origins but really there doesn’t seem to be any rhyme or reason to this storyline.  It’s like a panster took some acid and just started writing. I mean, the basics of it are yeah, the boys got exiled and are trying to get back in to the gods domain but for reasons unknown they can’t ….yet.  Intrigue, unheaval and mystery linger in the corners and crevices of this book, and it’s a bit deep for this kind of story I think but you can follow it.

They all have some fierce protection instincts and loyalty going on, and its been like that from the start but when in the previous two it seemed like they were indulging a pet, this time around they are truly showing her how much she means to them by giving her power over them.  It’s a nice turn around from the last two.  I’m glad because I was getting bored with their indugences of her.
