Travis states: Santa’s fake!
Oh for goodness sake!Trent, Drew, and the entire hashtag crew are back for holiday shenanigans! When Travis declares, “Santa’s fake!” the family bands together to deliver Christmas magic and the joy of family into the heart of a little boy who never had a reason to believe. What ensues will make you laugh, cry, and perhaps remind you what it’s like to see the holidays through the eyes of a child. So what’s it going to be: Christmas chaos or happily ever after? Maybe a little bit of both.
In addition to a brand new holiday-themed short story, this special edition of GearShark includes a holiday-themed interview with Trent and Drew, nine scrumptious recipes, The Prank—a holiday bonus scene featuring Trent and Drew—and fun Christmas trivia to test your holiday knowledge!
*#HEA is a short story but is book seven in the GearShark series. This is not a standalone.
4.5 stars — You know what I love about the way Ms. Hebert writes even just Christmas novellas for these serieses? They’re not just fluff…they’re never fluff. You continue to see more growth in both the characters and in their relationships. That’s what makes me love these series and these characters so much — they feel very real in their emotions and connections with one another. Yeah, some parts are a bit idealistic (like them all being rich as sin and able to use their celebrity for things us plebes never could), but that’s all just like background massaging. The meat is how they interact with one another.
I expected a lot of the story to surround Travis and their first Christmas as a family. But it wasn’t just that. There was still a lot of growth happening for #Trew. I’d previously read the short story The Prank that was included at the beginning, and I loved the way bits from that story permeated #HEA as well. I loved that Drew wanting to make traditions and give Trent what he didn’t have as a child became something Trent could understand with Travis.
Yeah, there were a lot of fluffy happy parts with all our favourite characters…but it was mixed with a lot of heart and heartache (Drew still recovering mentally). It was a great balance, and it was exactly what I didn’t know I wanted.
That cover is adorable! It screams more kids’ cartoon Christmas than romance, but I’ll still take it! 😉
