Blurb:They're my boys now - the four heirs of Delta. Together we’re a team ... a family. Five broken, brutal, possibly sociopathic people, and we are all that stands between the world and the powerful, corrupt Delta corporation.
We have no idea what we’re doing, but somehow we are determined to stop them. Permanently. We just need leverage ... irrefutable evidence of their corruption.
And we need it now. Before the vote that will change everything.Only there are a few other issues to deal with first. Dante in prison for murder, blood coated roses showing up on my doorstep, and my bio-mom reaching all new levels of insanity.
For the first time we might be completely out of our depth ... but we won’t give up.Not until the final battle is played out. Not until the war has been won.
*This dark contemporary romance features one girl and four sexy, dangerous boys but is NOT a reverse harem.*Includes a sneak peek of chapter one of Princess Ballot.
Favorite quotes:
It took a long time, but eventually, I got very good at hiding the darkness in my soul. The predator inside. But, in this moment, as I stared down at Riley’s face, still stained with the tears she’d cried on me, a black wave of fury settled into my soul. The sort of fury that had me wanting to start a goddamn war for her, to wipe out any fucker who’d ever dared hurt her.
This series is seriously crazy! Like, it’s so fast paced I had a hard time following all the intricacies of the plot. Why is her bio-mom so crazy? Why is it so important that they act a certain way? I get that everyone is trying to kill them, but the level of anxiety I felt while reading this book was very high. Like, once a threat was neutralized, another one would replace it. It was constant warfare with really no end in sight and lots of sexual tension thrown in. The steamy scenes were great but Beck was waaay tooo extra alpha for me.
And Riley’s didn’t grow as much as I wanted her to in this series. She was pretty passive throughout the series I think. Letting things happen to her without really being pro-active in her own situation. Also, I felt that there was a lot of fluff. I’m pretty sure I had to take notes to sort through it all. Even with all that, I still couldn’t out this book down. Sometimes a book is so bad that it is good. I’m weird like that. It may not make sense but I just read it for the action and sex scenes so making sense wasn’t really on my priority list. These authors are hit or miss for me so I keep going back.
