Blurb:It's hard being a new mom on a barren, wintry planet. How about a mom...times two? Nora has to find a way to juggle babies, her mate, and friendships while catching the occasional nap. Can she get her groove back?
This is one of the Slice of Life Short Stories set in the ICE PLANET BARBARIANS series and does not stand alone. It should be read after BARBARIAN'S MATE.
This one is what RD calls a Slice of Life Short Stories. It follows after Barbarians Mate (#7) but isn’t about Josie. I don’t think we got a full length of Nora and Dagesh so this one will have to do. Suffice it to say they resonated right after the humans landed and are now the proud of parents of twins! On a planet full of ice….with no technology….WTF? Talk about living a hard life.
I remember thinking this one was ok. The babies were fussy and I really felt for Nora, especially with her husband being gone most of the time. It’s hard to be spontaneous when you have to plan nearly everything. But honestly, it was a bit too realistic for me. Maybe I felt Nora a little bit too hard. I wasn’t really interested in her sturggles as a mom because we all deal with it. I don’t know why I just wasn’t sympathetic to her plight. At least it was short.
