Blurb:

A wrong number is supposed to be just that—a wrong number.

Delete. Done.

Do not continue to text. Do not flirt.

A wrong number shouldn't be the first person on your mind in the morning, or the last at night...and you're definitely not supposed to talk them into buying a baby goat.

Because that would be weird.

When Zach Hastings and I get into a wrong-number mix-up, we don't follow the rules. We keep texting and flirting, because he's wicked funny and perfectly nerdy and a wonderful distraction.

I'm not looking for love, and Zach definitely had the wrong number.

But maybe...

Maybe he's the right guy.

My Review:

4 stars — This one had sooooo many great elements!  I seriously LOVED the dialogue and witty banter — it was 100% a highlight.

The problem for me lie in that with so much dialogue bits (especially through texting), I felt like I was missing some of the emotion and inner thoughts of Delia.  It kept me from fully connecting with her, or with them as a couple.

Delia was definitely hilarious and quirky as all hell.  I loved that she had such sass to her.  But I wouldn’t have minded diving into her head just a teensy bit more.  It keeps this book as a fun read, but missing something to bump it into the next level.

Because this book was entirely from Delia’s POV, it made it a titch harder to connect with Zach.  He was just as hilarious as Delia, and I loved the cocky persona he had that overlayed his nerdiness.  But, again, there was that *deeper* connection missing for me.  A lot of times he felt a little bit more like a caricature than a character if that makes sense…he was almost too good to be true at times.

As I said above, I LOVED their bantering…I had so much fun reading those bits.  And I enjoyed their dates, and definitely felt the chemistry between them.  I got goofy smiles right alongside Delia.  But I think it doesn’t help that I wasn’t all that pleased with the way the conflict played out.  Not that it was awful, just that I was wanting a bit more understanding from Zach’s side…or maybe for *him* to investigate what happened.  I don’t know…something just made me meh on that whole thing.

Obviously Marshmallow was a total star, and while it was silly and unbelievable at times, his addition was also hilarious and adorable.  And Zoe and Caleb both intrigued me enough to want to read more in the series.

So yeah.  It was one of those really really good books that was just missing something to take it to the next level for me…

  1. Yes! While I get what you say about wanting something more for the next level, this book was so much fun. The whole series is. I highly recommend!
