Blurb:There's one word you don't utter at Prescott High, not unless you want them to own you. H.A.V.O.C. Hael, Aaron, Victor, Oscar, and Callum.
The Havoc Boys rule the hellhole we call Prescott High. Once upon a time, they ruled me. For an entire year, I endured their shit. But senior year is going to be different.
This year, I own them. I’ve made a pact with the Havoc Boys to get the vengeance I deserve. Their price? Me. At their beck and call, in their beds, a part of their gang.
Their girl. A Havoc Girl. Those dirty, rotten boys are going to get revenge against everyone that’s wronged me—everyone but themselves.
HAVOC AT PRESCOTT HIGH is a 105,000 word mature high school/new adult romance with enemies-to-lovers/love-hate themes. It has brief flashbacks of past bullying incidents as well as foul language and sexual scenes; any sex featured is consensual. This is a reverse harem novel, meaning the main character has more than one love interest. This is book one of three in the series.
Favorite Quote:
“Fancy the boss, do you?” he asks, and I shake my head. “Not at all.” Lie. Never in the history of the universe has a lie that great ever crossed the lips of any liar. It was monstrous in its falsehood, the most untrue thing there ever was.
Man oh man, this was a most excellent dark bully reverse harem romance. I loved the concept of crying HAVOC in the hall. (And let slip the dogs of war.) Anyway, the flashbacks that tell of her bullying were a nice touch, I never liked when they throw it all in at once, it makes it very hard for me to forgive the men. But this wasn’t bullinng technically, since they would have done it to anyone that HAVOC was called upon. So it was much easier to forgive them when she called.
Bernadette was a bit on the immature side because she just couldn’t let go the reasons that someone cried HAVOC on her. Which I thought was stupid because when she cried it, they made her a part of the crew. A much better situation than anyone else was offered when they cried it. And she would get so mad when they wouldn’t tell her why so she would be a petty Betty and try to sabotage their plans. And she had very little trust in anyone and instead of asking straight out she would just assume that her thoughts were the right ones. Dumb.
Although the guys might deserve some of her wrath because all of them save one are buttheads.
Hael: This one dessn’t take everything so seriously except when he thinks he may have gotten a chic prego, understandably), and he drives a cool car and doesn’t seem to treat Bern with disrespect at all.
Aaron: the ex-boyfriend who never stopped loving Bernadette but who wouldn’t dare defend her when she was bullied. This guy is a wuss and I have no idea what his role is in this book.
Victor: the leader, super controlling alpha and the one who wanted Bernadette to become a HAVOC girl the most because he needs to marry her to gain an inheritance.
Oscar: I think this one is the techie guy who doesn’t seem to care either way about Bernadette and if she is a member or not as long as she doesn’t mess wth their end game.
Callum: This guy is the ‘fall guy’ who is suposed to take the blame for anything they do that they get caught at. He seems to be attracted to Bernadette but the first three were the main focus in this book.
Now the world building in this book was just terrible, but it was a so terrible it was good in a way. Like, I totally snorted reading some of these outragious things the kids did but after a while it was like watching those old dating shows on VH1. What hot mess are we gonna see this chapter? LOL, I can’t wait to read the next one. I just wish Stunich doesn’t feel the need to remind us all the time about the damn tattoos and the metal detectors at school. We get it, its the ghetto. Can we move on from that?
