My rating:
Blurb:I don’t belong in the Heights.
Truth be told, no one does. It’s dirty, grimy. Riddled with crime, the destitute, and the desperate. Where the family unit doesn’t always mean a mom, a dad, and two-point-five kids. It’s whoever gives you the time of day.
That’s how the Heights Crew came about. The only relationship that counts in the Heights is if you’re a part of the Crew. There, gang ties are thicker than blood. More important than money, safety, or any other promise we’re supposed to have in this life. Even more important than yourself.
Me? I’m in, and I can’t get out.
Some days, I’m not even sure I want to.
Arm Candy Warrior is the second book in The Heights Crew series, a dark high school enemies to lovers reverse harem.
Favorite Quote:
“I understand that just because you might do something wrong or bad or illegal, doesn’t make you a bad person. Just as if you go to church every Sunday and preach religion doesn’t technically make you a good person. There are gray areas. Hell, a lot of life is a gray area.”
Usually I LOVE the second book in a series. It gives the character’s more depth and growth plus we get more involved with them, but the story takes a hit because of it. In this one the story stalled out all together. Most of it was them sneaking around and making out with no real progression of plot taking place. The last of 25 percent everything kinda kicked into gear and I gotta say the climax was pretty weak considering how great the last book was. I honestly don’t know if I will read more in this series or not. I don’t want to give up on this series but I’m a bit disappointed.
Ugh. This sounds boring… or maybe all the making out was fun? LOL Sorry it didn’t go anywhere for you.
