Down The TBR Hole is a meme created by Lia @ Lost in a Story that revolves around cleansing your TBR of all those books you’re never going to read and sort through it all to know what’s actually on there.
It works like this:
- Go to your goodreads to-read shelf.
- Order on ascending date added.
- Take the first 5 (or 10 (or even more!) if you’re feeling adventurous) books. Of course, if you do this weekly, you start where you left off the last time.
- Read the synopses of the books
- Decide: keep it or should it go?
This is all Lillian @Mom With a Reading Problem‘s fault. She started doing this, and I couldn’t help but look at my Kindle, and all the titles that I don’t even remember what they’re about, and I just figured maybe I should start the CLEANSE. It’s about the only CLEANSE you’ll see me participate in. I’m going to be focussing entirely on my Kindle book problem at the moment, since it’s the craziest (and it’s what features most prominently in my Goodreads TBR). And I’ve decided if a book goes, then I’m deleting it from my Kindle cloud library too — GONE! Poof! JUST DO IT! My internal hoarder is screaming right now.
As of writing this post, my current Goodreads TBR shelf has 1849 books on it. No, that’s not a typo. You see why this meme might be good for me. I’ve also decided that if I get rid of the first book in a series, and I have other books in that series, I’m going to get rid of them at the same time instead of waiting until they show up.
The Perfect Game (The Perfect Game #1) by J. Sterling — I’m just not feeling this one…
Verdict: Goes
Angel Burn (Angel #1) by L.A. Weatherly — I will admit I still have a wee weakness for the angel books, but I don’t think I’m willing to invest in a trilogy where each book is $7+. I mean, it could be worth it, but I’m not seeing “wow” reviews from anyone I know.
Verdict: Goes
Leave Me Breathless (Ross Siblings #3) by Cherrie Lynn — Meh.
Verdict: Goes
Letters from the Ledge by Lynda Meyers — Eh, not something I gravitate towards…no idea why I clicked in the first place.
Verdict: Goes
Wasteland (Wasteland #1) by Lynn Rush — No longer available, so bye.
Verdict: Goes
Treading Water (Treading Water #1) by Marie Force — Eh. I recently reread some of Ms. Force’s Gansett Island series, and it was just okay…good but not wow. I have a bunch more of those, so I’d rather keep trying them than start another series.
Verdict: Goes
Fallen Too Far (Rosemary Beach #1, Too Far #1) by Abbi Glines — Again, I’m wiping my hands of Abbi Glines…at least every series I haven’t already started.
Verdict: Goes
Tainted Legacy (Tainted Legacy #1) by Amity Hope — Amazon thinks I read this. I don’t remember. And now it’s not available, nor is the sequel (and the first ends in a cliffhanger). So it goes.
Verdict: Goes
Luck of the Draw (Shamrock Falls #2) by Kelley Vitollo — While the blurb didn’t completely suck me in, I remember really enjoying the first book, and I’ve enjoyed books by this author’s other pen names…so it stays for now.
Verdict: Stays
Depths (Silver Strand #2) by Steph Campbell & Liz Reinhardt — I’ve always meant to get back to this series, so it’s definitely staying for now.
I’ve read several of those Rosemary Beach books, but I don’t think I’ve ever read the one you have here. I think I own it…or I dumped it like you just did. I also passed on that J. Sterling book. I think it might have love triangle vibes and that’s not my favorite.
