Down The TBR Hole is a meme created by Lia @ Lost in a Story that revolves around cleansing your TBR of all those books you’re never going to read and sort through it all to know what’s actually on there.
It works like this:
- Go to your goodreads to-read shelf.
- Order on ascending date added.
- Take the first 5 (or 10 (or even more!) if you’re feeling adventurous) books. Of course, if you do this weekly, you start where you left off the last time.
- Read the synopses of the books
- Decide: keep it or should it go?
This is all Lillian @Mom With a Reading Problem‘s fault. She started doing this, and I couldn’t help but look at my Kindle, and all the titles that I don’t even remember what they’re about, and I just figured maybe I should start the CLEANSE. It’s about the only CLEANSE you’ll see me participate in. I’m going to be focussing entirely on my Kindle book problem at the moment, since it’s the craziest (and it’s what features most prominently in my Goodreads TBR). And I’ve decided if a book goes, then I’m deleting it from my Kindle cloud library too — GONE! Poof! JUST DO IT! My internal hoarder is screaming right now.
ETA: OK, if I’m truly waffling over one of them, I’m giving you all like a couple days to convince me otherwise before I delete them. So speak now! (This is your fault Ashley)
As of writing this post, my current Goodreads TBR shelf has 1777 books on it. No, that’s not a typo. You see why this meme might be good for me. I’ve also decided that if I get rid of the first book in a series, and I have other books in that series, I’m going to get rid of them at the same time instead of waiting until they show up.
Finding Cinderella (Hopeless #2.5) by Colleen Hoover — Oh look, another series I never finished. But I 100% plan on it.
Verdict: Stays
Losing Hope (Hopeless #2) by Colleen Hoover — Ditto.
Verdict: Stays
Human Blend (Blend Trilogy #1) by Lori Pescatore — Meh.
Verdict: Goes
All Our Yesterdays by Cristin Terrill — My interest is a bit piqued, but not enough you know?
Verdict: Goes
Fondled and Gobbled (Someone Had to Do It #1) by Various Authors — It seemed amusing at the time, but I just don’t think I’m interested anymore.
Verdict: Goes
Another Little Piece by Kate Karyus Quinn — I see the high reviews…and I’m still fairly meh, so whatever.
Verdict: Goes
Come Alive (Experiment in Terror #7) by Karina Halle — Will I actually finish this series? I honestly don’t know, but it stays for now.
Verdict: Stays
Misplaced Princess (Foreign Affairs #1) by Mari Carr & Lexxie Couper — Now titled Taming His Princess (Crossed Wires #1). I don’t know, it could be fun, but I just have so many other books I’m more interested in and I need to be realistic.
Verdict: Goes
Midnight Ink Boxed Set by Various Authors — Honestly, I just don’t read anthologies enough, and there are others I’m more excited about. I think it’s just been too long.
Verdict: Goes
Hot & Heavy (Chubby Girl Chronicles #2) by Tabatha Vargo — I remember waiting and waiting for this book, and I think I’m just not as interested anymore. Kind of a shame, but oh well.
You did good one this one! I am glad you saved both those CoHo books.
