From New York Times bestselling author Katy Regnery comes a brand new series set on Blueberry Lane!
The Bohemian and the Businessman is the first of four books about the Philadelphia-based Story sisters who are all on the look-out for love.
Priscilla Story, the self-proclaimed “wild child” of the straight-laced Story clan, has always had a knack for getting herself trouble. Except this time, her “growing problem” is going to require a Daddy sooner than later…or she can kiss her inheritance good-bye.
Shane Olson, who previously dated Priscilla’s sister, Margaret, isn’t opposed to a marriage of convenience for the sake of furthering his business interests, but Priscilla – with her wild ways – is just about the last woman he’d choose to marry.
In order to make the marriage look convincing, they end up having to spend more time together than they’d originally planned. When rolling stone, Priscilla, who lives by the seat of her muu-muu, and seriously-ambitious Shane, who’s had his whole life planned since he was eleven, start falling for each other, it’s going to take a whole lot of compromise for this Bohemian and her Businessman to find their happily ever after.
I love when opposites attract! Maybe because my husband and I are opposites, maybe it’s because I am a firm believer in the differences bringing out the best in each other. Either way, this story was wonderful and I can’t wait to read the rest!
I loved how desperate and selfish they both were to begin with. Priscilla was a black sheep and I could totally relate to that. I always felt that way growing up in my family. Shane was wound so tight and it was a pleasure to see how she brought out his romantic and relaxed side.
The progression of physical and emotional attachment was written beautifully. It was neither too fast nor too slow. I thought I would have an issue with the whole horse before the carriage thing but it turns out, I liked it.
Ms Regnery knows how to write passion and boy did I feel it. Priscilla’s previous sexual experiences made for an interesting role reversal in the bedroom. I really liked how it was done with regards to that aspect of their relationship. I highly recommend this book to romance lovers.
