Blurb:

Rook is chasing her dream—film school and a chance at a life beyond the one she ran from six months ago. But before she can become the girl she wants to be, she must deal with the girl she left behind.

Ronin is also chasing his dream—a family of his own and a life away from erotic modeling. And he too, has a past he’s trying to forget. A past that makes Rook question everything about their life together.

Lies, secrets, and shocking truths will rock the foundation Rook and Ronin have built. Can they put the past behind them and move forward together? Or is this just another too good to be true relationship that will crash and burn in the end?

My Review:

Favorite Quote:

Me against the world is not a good plan of attack in the war that is life.

I enjoyed this one but it was more of the same really.  But with some new stuff sprinkled in which kept me interested. I did enjoy the closing up of all the loose ends from the previous books. Very nicely done.

One thing is for sure, I think they need to split.  Do they care about each other? Yeah, is it love? I don’t know.  I think they are trying to hard and forcing something that should come naturally.  It’s almost as if their love for each other is holding them back. Rook is still recovering and just flat out refuses to get help, something that could easily backfire is she’s not careful.

And Ronin is doing Ronin.  Nothing has really changed for him except his status went from single to in a relationship.  Woopty do, big deal. I don’t think he had enough growth in this series so far to match Rook’s. Even Ford has had more growth and he is a side character!

And the big revelation about Ford at the end of this book wasn’t so big.  It really just affirmed what we, as readers, already knew.  Rook is the dumb one for not seeing it.  And I think because she acknowledges that she could have loved Ford then her feelings for Ronin are not as strong as she thinks, hence, break up and find yourself girl!

Sorry but I’m over Ronin and Rook as an item, I’m debating on whether I want to keep going in this series.  I’ll probabaly read’s Ford’s story for sure though at least.

I’ve only read the first 2 books a LONG time ago…I probably shouldn’t have read this review, but luckily I’ll forget any spoilers by the time I get back to it. 😛
