I received a free copy through NetGalley in exchange for an honest and unbiased review/opinion.
The first book (Bearing His Touch by Eve Langlais) was alright, it didn’t really stand out to me. Their romance was too quick and pretty superficial for my tastes. And the plot climax was too quickly wrapped up. This one just seemed a bit half-assed in the storyline department.
The second book (Fake Mated to the Wolf by Milly Taiden) had terrible transitions, I could barely follow the dialogue. It was choppy and changed direction mid thought. And the time changes were too abrupt. One minute I was in the present with one character, the next I was somewhere else with no foreshadowing or hint as to why. I can’t believe I finished that one to be honest, I think because it was a short story I just finished it real quick.
The third book (The Witch, The Werewolf and The Waitress by Kate Baxter) was the best which goes to show that the best is usually saved for last. OMG this one had depth of character, great and intricate background on both MC’s and some serious chemistry. Add to the fact it was a short story and to bring it all together with less words that a full length novel was really impressive. I wouldn’t have minded reading more about this couple.
