Blurb:

To survive where I live, you have two options.

You can be a Normal--a cheerleader, jock, member of the debate team, or on the yearbook committee. You pretend everything is normal.

Or you can be crew. You insult us? We hurt you.You hurt us? We really hurt you.And if you screw with us, we will end you.

My name is Bren.I'm the only female in the Wolf Crew--the best, fiercest, and most dangerous crew there is--and we have a rule: There's no falling in love.

Well... too late.

*This book contains mature young adult situations.*Full-length novel. First book in a series.*Book ends at 95%. Two bonus chapters are at the end.

My Review:

I do love me some teenage angst ridden drama. And no one does that better than Tijan.  Although this seemed to go along the same route as Fallen Crest with a minor change in circumstances, I still enjoyed it.  Instead of calling them outright gangs, they are crews.  Which isn’t much of a change in my opinion but whatever.

I did find Bren to be a bit extra in her angsty-ness.  She kinda made everything about her and while I usually hate when females do that, it seemed everyone just kinda went along with being in her orbit.  So I guess she wasn’t wrong to think that about herself. I did love the looks shared bewteen Cross and Bren but again, a lot was implied.  I’m not a big fan of unspoken looks but sometimes, if used correctly, they can get the point across.  This book is heavy with unspoken looks so they lost their impact for me early on.

Also, some of the things that the crews would be fighting about were blown way out of proportion and a lot was implied without dialogue. Which I found a bit irritating and unbelievable.  I don’t know if I will read the next book in the series because of my true love for Fallen Crest but we will see.  Its the type of book I can only read few and far between because it can get old fast.
