Stacking The Shelves is feature/weekly meme created by Tynga’s Reviews in which you share the books you are adding to your shelves, both physical and virtual. This means you can include books you buy in physical stores or online, books you borrow from friends or the library, review books, gifts and of course ebooks!

Curly Carla’s Haul

(All Ebooks unless otherwise specified)

Gifted/Won It:

  • Crooked Kingdom (Six of Crows #2) by Leigh Bardugo.  I loved the first one and Lenore got it for me for my birthday!

Borrowed From The Library:

Kindle Unlimited:

Can I just say how much I LOVE KU!?!?!?!?!

  • Hatter & His Alice by Ally Michelle.  Another one for my Science Fiction vs Fantasy Book Bingo hosted by Curiosity Killed the Bookworm.
  • Still Not Over You by Nicole Snow.  Just a book that keeps popping up on my recs so I figure its fate that I read it.

Got It On Sale:

  • Flow (Grip #0.5) by Kennedy Ryan.  I saw this on our page and wanted to check it out.  Looks like its still free (LENORE SAYS: always free) if you want to try it.
  • Grip (Grip #1) by Kennedy Ryan.  Another freebie I saw on our page.  Sadly, this one isn’t free anymore.
  • Skin 2.0: A Cyberpunk Science Fiction Novella (The Cyborg Sectors #1) by Alex Leu.  I was looking for a Cyberpunk to fill in the space on my Science Fiction vs Fantasy book bingo being hosted by Curiosity Killed the Bookworm and this one fit the bill.

Lenoreo’s Haul

(All Ebooks unless otherwise specified)

NetGalley ARC Requests Approved:

  • Intercepted (Playbook #1) by Alexa Martin from Berkley (Berkley Publishing Group) — released September 11th, 2018. After reading Deanna @A Novel Glimpse’s review of this book, and noting that it featured a hispanic heroine, and this being Hispanic History Month for my Platypire Diversity Challenge, I decided to try requesting!
  • Paper Girl by Cindy R. Wilson from Entangled: Teen (Entangled Publishing LLC) — releases December 4th, 2018.
  • Illusions by Madeline J. Reynolds from Entangled: Teen (Entangled Publishing LLC) — releases November 6th, 2018.
  • Snowed in for Christmas (Holiday Acres #2) by Noelle Adams, Zoe York, & Samantha Chase from Victory Editing NetGalley Co-Op — releases October 23rd, 2018.
  • The Gilded Wolves (The Gilded Wolves #1) by Roshani Chokshi from Wednesday Books (St. Martin’s Press) — releases January 15th, 2019.
  • Cupcakes for Christmas by Kate Hewitt from Tule Publishing — releases October 25th, 2018.

ARCs From Authors/PR Companies:

  • Fragments of Ash: Cinderella (A Modern Fairytale #7) by Katy Regnery from Give Me Books Promotions — releases October 1st, 2018.  I LOVED this one you guys (see my review here, just posted!)!  AND it’s on PREORDER SALE for just $2.99!!  It’ll go back up to its regular price of $5.99 upon release, and won’t go on sale for quite a while, so take advantage!  Not to mention, proceeds from sales during the month of October go to a Women’s Shelter charity!
  • Love Sincerely Yours by Sara Ney & Meghan Quinn from InkSlinger PR — releases October 9th, 2018.

New Releases:

  • Block Shot (Hoops #2) by Kennedy Ryan — released September 9th, 2018.  This one was on a release sale of $2.99, so I snagged it right away…not to mention apparently it features a hispanic heroine as well.  I just didn’t get to it this month.
  • Daylight Robbery (Aspen Falls #6) by Melissa Pearl & Anna Cruise — released September 28th, 2018.  This was my FAVOURITE of the Aspen Falls series, check out my review here.

Gifted/Won It:

  • Center of Gravity by K.K. Allen — released September 18th, 2018.  I won an ARC of this one in Ginger Scott’s fan group (Ginger’s Ninjas)!!!  It’s a dance book, and I can’t wait to get to it!
  • Love Hacked (Knitting in the City #3) by Penny Reid — This was my birthday present from Curly Carla!!!  It’s the book in the KITC series I’ve been most intrigued by!

Borrowed From The Library:

  • One Small Thing by Erin Watt, narrated by Charlotte North — So, uh…I got this from the library earlier in the summer…and then proceeded to not read it before it was returned.  So I got on the hold list, and it’s my turn again!  And of course I haven’t listened yet.  Ugh.  It returns in 8 days, I gotta get on it!

Audible Romance Package:

  • Archer’s Voice (A Sign of Love Novel) by Mia Sheridan, narrated by Kris Koscheski & Emily Durante — So the theme for October in the Platypire Diversity Challenge is physical disability awareness.  And while without reading it, I can’t confirm if the hero is deaf/mute, I think he is…so I got this one in anticipation of fulfilling that challenge.  Hoping to listen to it on our Thanksgiving road trip.
  • Neanderthal Seeks Human (Knitting in the City #1) by Penny Reid, narrated by Jennifer Grace — So I’ve been wanting to finally get to this series and finish it, either this year or next, but it’s been awhile since I read this first book.  And it wasn’t my favourite (see my review here).  But I’m wondering if it’ll work better for me as an audiobook, so I’mma give it a try.

Audiobooks:

  • Love Hacked (Knitting in the City #3) by Penny Reid, narrated by Devra Woodward — So this is a bit of a strange story.  So first, I LOVE me a good whispersync deal (where if I have the Kindle book, it’s just X to add on the audiobook…if it’s $1.99, I often jump on it).  And when Curly Carla gifted me the Kindle book for my birthday, because I’m in Canada I couldn’t accept it directly…I had to exchange it for a gift card and then buy it myself.  Amazon has decided to thwart me.  It’s so annoying.  But in fortunate happenstance, I noticed this one was $1.99 to add on the audiobook, so I did!  Look at my one-click finger go.
  • Speakeasy (True North #5) by Sarina Bowen, narrated by Seraphine Valentine & Lance Greenfield — Like I said above, I love me a good whispersync deal, and the peeps in Ms. Bowen’s Facebook group (Sarindipity) mentioned this one went on for just $1.99, so I snatched it up!  It’s always nice to have audiobook versions of fave books so it makes rereading them fun.

Purchased:

  • Tied Up in You (All Laced Up #2) by Erin Fletcher — This wasn’t on sale, but I didn’t realize this second book had come out and I noticed it when I was reviewing other Entangled: Crush books.  So since I loved the first one (see my review here), I knew I needed to read the 2nd.

Got It On Sale:

  • Ten Below Zero by Whitney Barbetti — So I recently read and loved a book (The Weight of Life) by Ms. Barbetti, met her at Book Bonanza, and so have put her on my watchlist.  So when I got an eReaderIQ alert that this book was on sale for free from its usual $3.99, I snagged it!  Still on sale!
  • Counterfeit Boyfriend by Cindi Madsen — Ms. Madsen is a favourite author, and I read an ARC of this one and thoroughly enjoyed it (see my review here).  So when I got an eReaderIQ alert that it was on sale for 99 cents from its usual $3.99, I figured I should add it to my collection!  Still on sale!
  • Only You (One and Only #1) by Melanie Harlow — So I’m contemplating some author events next year, one of which is the 6ix Author Event in Toronto.  I haven’t read anything by this author, but I’ve seen others who’ve enjoyed her, so I went poking around her books.  I happened to notice this one on sale for just above $1 for me, but from what I can tell it’s back up to regular $4.99 in the US.  I don’t know why it’s still on sale for me, but I snagged it.
  • Lakeshore Secrets (The McAdams Sisters #1) by Shannyn Leah — Another author who will be at the 6ix Author Event in Toronto.  This one looks to be always free, so I thought I’d give it a shot.
  • A Clean Fake Marriage Romance Collection (Married #1-5) by Victorine E. Lieske — Honestly, I think I have 4 of the 5 of these, but when I saw it both on BookBub and My Book Cave emails for free from its usual $9.99, I didn’t hesitate.  I prefer boxed sets…cuts down on Kindle clutter.  Alas, the sale is over.
  • Archer’s Voice (A Sign of Love Novel) by Mia Sheridan — When I was looking up links for getting the Audible copy above, I noticed that this one was on sale for $1.99 from its usual $4.99, and while I think I have the Indie version, I didn’t have this one with the extended epilogue…so I snagged it.  Still on sale!

I’m so excited you got Archer’s Voice, I can’t remember if you already read it but I bet the Audio is glorious!
