Blurb:

This is your brain on Grant Petersen: Every comfortable assumption you have about a subject is turned upside down, and by the time you finish reading you feel challenged, energized, and smarter. In Just Ride—“the bible for bicycle riders” (Dave Eggers, New York Times Book Review)—Petersen debunked the bicycle racing– industrial complex and led readers back to the simple joys of getting on a bike.

In Eat Bacon, Don’t Jog, Petersen upends the last 30 years of conventional health wisdom to offer a clear path to weight loss and fitness. In more than 100 short, compelling directives, Eat Bacon, Don’t Jog shows why we should drop the carbs, embrace fat, and hang up our running shoes, with the latest science to back up its claims.

My Review:

So the title really hooked but when I opened the book up and saw it was one page chapters, I was instantly sold on reading it.  I like a lot of non-fiction but I can’t stand when a non-fiction book focuses on one concept for too long.  It starts to run dry to me and I lose interest real fast.

Also, this book was just really well written.  It was funny, informative without being over the top and I loved how it stated in the beginning the information was what worked for him but may not work for everyone.  I mean really, when it comes to eating right and exercising we all know there is no ‘one true way’. And he totally gave more suggestive reading in the end which I thought was great cause I’m not the type of person to read one book of this type and stop.  I like to get multiple views.

While I got the paperback from the library, this book is available on KU if you subscribe.  I just like to read non-fiction in physical form rather then electronic.
