Blurb:

‘Go live with Nate Ryder,’ they said.

‘Everything will be fine,’ they said.

Are they nuts?

Nate Ryder has been the bane of my existence for the past five years. He’s made it his personal mission to make my life a living hell and now my parents expect me to go and live with the guy for the foreseeable future.

No thanks. I’d rather gouge out my eyes with a toothpick than live with him and his little brother, Jesse. Only problem is, they have my parents wrapped around their little fingers, thinking they’re the good little boys they pretend to be.

But I know better, and so does the rest of Broken Hill High.

Nate Ryder is not to be messed with. He’s a bad boy through and through. A bully. A guy who doesn’t care who he has to step on to get what he wants. He’s the devil and he knows it.

Now that devil is my roommate.

I better hold on tight because this is going to be one bumpy ride. One where I can guarantee that I won’t come out the same.

Dive in to the world of Broken Hill High and meet your new favorite bad boy.

This is one wild read you don’t want to miss.

WARNING: The Broken Hill High Series is a four book New Adult Romance filled with LOL moments, teenage angst, and of course, all the swoon worthy moments I know you’re all dying for. This series is recommended for mature readers due to cursing and sexual content. If this offends you, then steer clear of this bad boy romance!

For everyone else, dive in and have fun!

My Review:

This book was good, if a bit too much like The Fall Away Series and Fallen Crest Series.  But I did love those series so……it had everything I wanted in a teenage bully-turned-lover high school romance.  Intrigue, angst, strong willed heroine with a forgiving heart.  I mean, I don’t know why I love these books so much, I would straight up stab someone who treated me this way.  But since it’s fantasy, I get to live vicariously through these characters.

Nate is…honestly, he was a bit forgettable.  Alpha douche with a hard on for torturing Tora, a childhood friend who for reasons I forgot stopped hanging out with her when they were younger. I am positive the reasons were minor and not at all worthy of years of bullying.  Now Jesse, the younger brother, he was super interesting.  He was able to somehow swing being a brat while redeeming his sweetness.  We don’t really get to know the rest of the group in very much detail…..yet?

Tora seems a bit wishy washy. I can’t figure out if she is immature or just naive and sweet. And I’m still on the fence if I like her or not.  Her friends make up for whatever it is I find lacking in her character though so I am going to read the next one to see if she becomes better.  Here’s hoping.

One response to “Broken Hill High (Broken Hill High #1) by Sheridan Anne

  1. I read this series a couple months ago because I was looking for something similar to Fallen Crest High. It wasn’t as good as that one. It kept me entertained and curious for what was next, but it was lacking something that FCH had. I think it was the emotional connection to the characters for me. Tijan has a way of pulling you into their lives and making you fall in love with them even when you probably shouldn’t. I never quite felt that way for Tora and Nate. I never completely bought into their relationship maybe. I don’t know. I agree with what you wrote in this review.
