Blurb:

The final Judgement is here...

My sisters hate their gifts, but they don’t know how lucky they are. They have a home and family. I have nothing. But, I am Courage, and I know my purpose. I exist for one reason only: to complete the Judgement.

Olivia is blind, yet sees. And what she sees, she keeps to herself. Her father conspires for control while Olivia does her own plotting with forces that only she understands. Now, time is running out, and choices that will impact the world must be made.

My Review:

4 stars — Well this review is going to be a bitch to write.  Like seriously.  I’m going to have to start with super vague feelings, and then put anything else in a huge SPOILER box.

This book went in so many different directions, most of which I wasn’t expecting!  I expected dual POV, but we actually got, like, everyone’s POV.  That actually worked okay for me though, b/c sometimes you really do need to be in another’s head to see what’s going on, especially when SO MUCH is going on!  The only thing that bummed me out a bit with that is that I felt a little cheated with Olivia’s romance…though, honestly, considering how things played out, that makes sense.  I just want all the bonus epilogue novellas.  ALL OF THEM.  And maybe some side novellas.  And prequels.  That’s not too much to ask, is it?

I can honestly say that I was IMMEDIATELY sucked into this one and stayed up until 3am before I finally had to get some sleep.  I just needed to get to the point where I figured some of it out.  There were a lot of secrets kept from the reader and doled out along the way, and while that isn’t my favourite, I survived.  And in general I was pretty satisfied with the ending, how it all played out, what everything meant, etc.  There were still things I had questions about, or I wish I knew what the point was, but I’m not like upset about the lack of answers or anything.  It’s just the difference between a 4 star, and 4.5 or 5, you know?

So yeah.  As with all the stories in this series (and its companion), the world building was super intriguing, the plot captured me, I just wanted a bit more from the characters and the romance.  But that’s just a personal taste thing…  All in all, I thoroughly enjoyed my ride, and I’m intrigued with the author’s note at the end of the book.  You can bet I’ll be reading more by Ms. Haag!

COYER Summer Hunt: Read the last book in a series — 4 points.
