Blurb:CRUDE. ARROGANT. A**HOLE.No doubt about it, Sebastian ‘Oz’ Osborne is the university’s most celebrated student athlete—and possibly the biggest douchebag. A walking, talking cliché, he has a filthy mouth, a fantastic body, and doesn’t give a sh*t about what you or anyone else thinks. SMART. CLASSY. CONSERVATIVE.Make no mistake, Jameson Clarke may be the university’s most diligent student—but she is no prude. Spending most of her time in the hallowed halls of the library, James is wary of pervs, jocks, and douchebags—and Oz Osborne is all three.
She’s smart, sarcastic—and not what he expected. …EVERY DOUCHBAG HAS HIS WEAKNESS.
He wants to be friends. He wants to spend time with her.He wants to drive her crazy.
He wants…
Her.
It was pretty good. I’m not a real big contemporary fan, but I love a good enemies to romance/opposites attract trope. And this fit the bill. I really like Sara Ney’s books so I usually always read them, especially the sports romance ones. Those are like my kryptonite man. And I couldn’t tell you why. I’m not a sports fan so that’s not it. Oh well, I’ll just continue to read for the pure enjoyment of them, who cares why, right?
I want to tell you all the things that stood out for me, but honestly, trhe storyline wasn’t that original. And I love that! Boy meets girl, boy aggravates girl. Girl aggravates boy until a shared experience make them both realize they may have judged each other too harshly. Boy gets to know girl, girl gets to know boy. They find they like each other, boom. Romance evolves and HEA for everyone!
It was that simple. I think what makes Sara Ney’s writing stand out to me is the depth of character in the books themselves instead of the actual storyline. They have many layers and they evolve pretty well in each story. I love how she makes me think one way bout them in the beginning but then somehow changes my perception by the end. Anyway, this one was lovely and I will read more in this series when I’m in the mood.
I’m so excited for you to read more from Ney! I especially loved the third book in this series, The Learning Hours.
