Blurb:Keeping Beth by my side is turning out to be far harder than I planned. After all, I couldn’t escape her when we were traveling with Leander and Taylor. She dogged my steps, flitted through my dreams, and took up all my waking thoughts. Now? She’s disappeared like smoke through my fingers. But I will always find her. Nothing can keep me from the one my soul is tethered to, not even this pit of a city, Cranthum. The slavers control everything, and they’re on the verge of the biggest market of the year. The Bazaar. With Beth at my side—along with a few more surprising allies—we will light a spark that will change Cranthum, and the summer realm, forever. But freedom always comes at a cost, and the price is often paid in blood.
This one had the most action in all this series books so far. So many deaths and so much destruction. Really liked all the world building and revolutionary intrigue throughout.
Beth is a one of a kind character, full of witty comebacks and annoyingness that gets under Gareths skin. She is aggravating one minute then turns around and shows you some vulnerability that just makes you want to protect and care for her. It was like a bit whiplashy but worth it in the end.
Her dedication to her friends was admirable and the fact that Gerath was like, “Yeah, ok, whatever it takes to make you happy. I’m in!” Is it weird that I loved how he would struggle a bit then eventually cave to her desires? Although, he did get something out of it to so guess it was more a mutual understanding than just his blind devotion. I like how they always are fighting injustices within their world. It adds a little something something to the romance. I love when something bigger than themselves comes into play, it’s a nice reminder that there is something more out there. I will continue to read this author and series.
