Stacking The Shelves is feature/weekly meme created by Tynga’s Reviews (and co-hosted by Reading Reality) in which you share the books you are adding to your shelves, both physical and virtual. This means you can include books you buy in physical stores or online, books you borrow from friends or the library, review books, gifts and of course ebooks!

Curly Carla’s Haul

(All Ebooks unless otherwise specified)

Kindle Unlimited:

  • Choosing Theo (Clecanian #1) by Victoria Aveline. This one is still sitting in my queue.  I’m waiting till I’m in the mood to read it.
  • Upended Life (Artemis University #1) by Erin R. Flynn.  This one was a fast paced academy read with very little things that go wrong for the main character but it was a fun read. See my review here.
  • Trauhn (Rakui Warriors #1) by Lena Grey & Juno Wells.  This one was a sexy read.
  • Alien Husband (Alien Bride #1) by Luna Kingsley.  This one was a bit lame if I’m being honest.
  • Rival (The Aces #1) by A.J. Macey. Cute, fun read.
  • Vengeance (Dark Scions #1) by Anna Carven. Just started this and it is fantastic so far.
  • In the Unlikely Event by L. J. Shen. This one was another fantastic story, I’ve had good luck with her books.

Lenoreo’s Haul

(All Ebooks unless otherwise specified)

NetGalley ARC Requests Approved:

  • You Had Me at Hola by Alexis Daria from Avon (HarperCollins Publishers) — releases August 4th, 2020.  I actually requested this one through the author and then her publishers sent me a widget.  I’m SO EXCITED for this one!

ARCs From Authors/PR Companies:

  • Love in Deed (Green Valley Public Library #6) by L.B. Dunbar from Smartypants Romance — releases May 12th, 2020.  BLOG TOUR date is May 27th.
  • Dirty Charmer by Emma Chase from Valentine PR — releases May 19th, 2020.

Preorders That Went Live:

  • Upsy Daisy (Higher Learning #1) by Chelsie Edwards from Smartypants Romance — released May 5th, 2020.  BLOG TOUR date is May 20th.  Hint: I LOVED IT!

New Releases:

  • A Beardy Bonus: Bonus and deleted scenes from the Winston Brothers Series by Penny Reid, narrated by Joy Nash & Chris Brinkley — released April 21st, 2020.  FREE!  Title links to Authors Direct.
  • Love the One You Hate by R.S. Grey — released May 4th, 2020.

Audible Escape Package:

  • The A.I. Who Loved Me by Alyssa Cole, narrated by Regina Hall, Mindy Kaling, Feodor Chin, Therese Plummer, Dina Pearlman, Neil Hellegers, Adenrele Ojo & Kyla Garcia — I’ve seen this one recommended in some audiobook groups I belong to, and since the hero is Asian, it works for my May Diversity Challenge theme…though, he is a robot, so??

Audiobooks:

  • The Fire Sisters (Brilliant Darkness #3) by A.G. Henley, narrated by Emily Woo Zeller — I can’t imagine doing anything but listen to these books, so I bought the Kindle book and took advantage of the $7.49 Whispersync deal to snag this.

Purchased:

It’s the 8th Annual Mental Health Awareness Month Book Fundraiser benefiting the Keith Milano Memorial Fund, where a group of authors have agreed to donate proceeds from the purchase of certain books!  Find out all the information here, including the list of authors/books that are participating.  All these books were purchased with that in mind, and I’m sure before May is over I will be purchasing more.

  • Luca (Chicago Blaze #2), Victor (Chicago Blaze #3), Knox (Chicago Blaze #4), and Alexei (Chicago Blaze #5) by Brenda Rothert — I’ve read the first 2 books in this series (but still needed to get my copy of Luca, because I only had the ARC), so I thought I would catch up on the series while supporting a great cause.
  • Moti on the Water by Leylah Attar — This looks like a great summer read, plus bonus: diversity!

Had To Get The Next In The Series:

Got It On Sale:

  • Insatiable (Cloverleigh Farms #3) by Melanie Harlow — Well, Book Bonanza has been cancelled and our tickets moved to 2021, so I feel much better!  And this is an attending author who posted that this book was on sale for free from its usual $4.99 in the Facebook attendees group, so I snagged it.  No longer free, but only 99 cents at the moment!
  • A Fairbanks Affair (Odds-Are-Good #3) by Katy Regnery — I follow this author on eReaderIQ, so when I got an alert that this book was on sale for 99 cents from its usual $3.99, I one-clicked.  Still on sale!
  • Texting Box Set (Texting #1-4) by Teagan Hunter — Another BB attending author, and I’ve read the first book in this series and it was pretty cute.  So when she posted that the whole series box set was only 99 cents?  You bet I snagged it.  Still 99 cents!
  • Gus (Bright Side #2) by Kim Holden — Have I read the first book yet?  No.  Do I assume I’m going to want to read more?  Probably.  So I had this wishlisted.  So when I got an eReaderIQ alert that this book was on sale for 99 cents from its usual $4.99 I grabbed it.  Still on sale!

  1. Curly Carla

I have had Gus for ages and still haven’t read it. Good luck with the fiest one. LOL

  2. You might as well get Franco, too. It’s $.99 and you will want it after Gus because you will miss the characters. AND WHY HAVEN’T YOU READ BRIGHT SIDE YET?!?!?!

    • lenoreo

Because I’m afraid of all the emotions!!! I keep putting it aside for another time. đŸ˜› And thanks for the tip on Franco!! I apparently already had it though…but not Gus? Weird.
