Blurb:

Seventeen year old, Callie thought climbing out of her hell of an abusive home life was going to be her biggest struggle, but it’s only the beginning. Starting over in a small nowhere town in Oregon with an aunt she didn’t know existed until a week ago, she makes five new guy friends that are each something otherworldly. Something supernatural-- and they say she is too. As if high school wasn’t hard enough.

In this captivating and vivid, paranormal reverse harem, join Callie on her journey of healing from the horrors of her past, while discovering that the world is far weirder than she could’ve possibly imagined.

Warning:

This book contains graphic violence, adult language, underage drinking, mild sexual content, and deals in sensitive issues such as abuse, suicide, and PTSD. Reader discretion is advised.

My Review:

Favorite Quotes:

Even if you hate shopping, wear nothing but jeans and t-shirts, find gossiping abhorrent, and never wear a stitch of makeup, it doesn’t make you any less a girl.”

I gasp and choke, drowning in the clutches of memories. I try to weave bandages made of the laughter and slices of joy I found today, desperately attempting to cover over what feels like never ending bleeding wounds.

I was pulled into this story right away.  The abuse was written well and wasn’t just used for shock value.   It offered a great background for Callie and her mannerisms toward everyone.  Her father was an absolute monster and a great big bad for her.  Her harem of male charcters had varied personalities and were easily distinguished from each other.

Their friendship was effortless and easy to believe.  This is a slow burner RH and I really liked how we got to delve pretty deep into each of her harem’s background story.  It could have moved a bit faster for my tastes but I’m still interested enough to read the next one.  I read this way back in March so I can’t remember the climax but I remember it has something to do with finding who murdered the ghost who lives in her house.  Oh and he can visit her in her dreams which I thought was a nice touch.

I especially liked the fact that they were not only attracted to her but a couple were attracted to each other as well.  I can’t wait to see where that goes.
