My rating:
Blurb:Can I complete my mission and save the galaxy with five alluring men tempting me every chance they get?
I’m the best damn pilot and smuggler in the galaxy. I’m good at what I do because I work alone with no one to screw things up.
Until I'm assigned a secret mission with a team of five tempting men, including my cocky ex who's acting like he never broke my heart.
With a gruff, pissed off soldier, an enemy bounty hunter, a gorgeous doctor, a shy techie, and a sassy dog, this ship is way too crowded with people I don’t need or want.
I don't have time to be distracted by my ex, that muscular warrior, the soulful medic, or any of the others who keep getting in my way.
But the longer I’m stuck on this ship with them, facing death at every turn, the more I like having them around.
A Star Pilot’s Heart is a reverse harem space opera, featuring a bad-ass heroine, sexy rebels, and gripping space battles. It’s a combination of Firefly and Star Wars with a RH twist.
This is the first in a medium-burn series (the harem grows one man at a time, but there is sex in each book).
Favorite Quotes:
“You are my heart,” he murmured. “You always have been.” “Poor you,” I said, and my voice choked on the words. “I’m a meager and stunted heart to have.”
This one was ok. Everything was pretty middle of the road. Predictable romance. Jaded FMC doesn’t work well with others because everyone she loves eventually leaves her. I mean, the story flowed really well and the pacing was decent, enough to keep me intersted and finish it anyway.
I really liked the origin story of her past romance, and the way it ended would have made me weary of letting others in too. I think the way she went about refusing to work with the rest of the team assigned to her and quitting was hella immature though. But then she snuck back and tryed to steal the ship and do the job anyway! Well, she might as well have just accepted the assignment to begin with, waste of time and words if you ask me. Didn’t really add to the progression of the story.
And the big bad was super weak, he was all bark and no bite! I didn’t really get why he acted so docile when they pumped him up to be this extremely ruthless and violent man. The ending didn’t really tie anything up except the romance part so I won’t be reading anymore.
