Looking back on my notes it seems this book started out with a good base and then seemed to stall out. It was good but the ending was too drawn out. I absolutely cannot stand when fluff is added to a story. I like my stories to be succinct and if their are loose ends or extra info that is not needed then I get very irritated. I get when there is added words that help to progress the story, like a cute background story to make the character relatable or add depth. But this was not that.
The climax came out of nowhere and had nothing to do with the main characters. Like, who does that? I get some authors want a surprise ending for shock value but come on, I need a little foreshadowing or else it just doesn’t make sense. It just didn’t really fit with the story.
I’m trying to even remember this book. I know I felt like the title didn’t really go. I think I wanted to read the next book…
