The 2018 New Release Reading Challenge is hosted by Lexxie @ Unconventional Book Views. #2018NewRelease

There are 5 levels to the challenge:
1-30 New Release Newbie
31-60 New Release Pro
61-100 New Release Veteran
101-200 New Release Enthusiast
201+ New Release Obsessed

My goal is New Release Veteran. I’m not including DNFs (those are my own personal requirements, not official rules of the challenge). Books must be 100 pages minimum.

The 2018 Beat the Backlist Challenge is hosted by Austine @ Novel Knight. #BeatTheBacklist

There are no levels to this challenge. you just set your reading goal. All books must be released prior to 2018 (it’s about decreasing your TBR list afterall). Since the goal of this reading challenge is to DECREASE my TBR, I’m going to try to be strict and only count books that I already have in my possession in some format before 2018. My goal is 42 books (the answer to life, the universe, and everything)!

Another aspect of this challenge is that each participant is placed on a team! I’m on Team Novel Knights!

So apparently this reading challenge moved and changed! The 2018 Netgalley and Edelweiss Reading Challenge is now being hosted by Tina @ Reading Between the Pages. #NGEW2018

The 2018 Reading Assignment Challenge is hosted by Berls @ Fantasy is More Fun and Michelle @ Because Reading is better than real life. #2018HW

I have wanted to participate in this challenge for a few years, but I’ve been intimated b/c I’m not good at sticking to specific plans. But I’m going to dive in. The basics are in these two points (I just copied and pasted instead of regurgitating):

Commit to reading 1, 2, 3, or 4 books a month and MAKE A LIST of the SPECIFIC books you will read in January – June. This is one of our changes… rather than committing for a year, you’re just picking the books for the first half of the year. You’ll make a new list and commit to a new number of books per month in June for July – December. So 2 books a month works for January – June, but only 1 for July – December? That’s fine!
Pick a level and make your list. REMEMBER: you’re committing to not just those books, but that number of books a month. You CANNOT read them all in one month.

So I’m going to start small and commit to Reading Level 1, which is 1 book a month for the first 6 months. Here is the list of 6 books I will choose from each month:

The goal of this challenge is to pick an author you love and would like to read more of, and try to read as many books by them in a year as you can.
